Competent Staff Consultant Series

"Everyone is a consultant" Although many people view “consultants” in unflattering terms, there are actually few positions in organizations that do not require the use of “consulting” skills. Anyone who helps others solve problems must, in some way, build and maintain a productive working relationship with the “client”, agree on a ”contract”, deal with resistance, collect and analyze data, and make recommendations. People with internal or external customers - in all functions, and key account sales people, need these skills.


Our approach consists of two phases. The first phase, our two-day EXTEND Consulting Skills [114kb PDF] workshop, develops the essential core competencies with emphasis on relationship building skills.

An optional two-day Phase II Consulting Application [85kb PDF] workshop, conducted 4-6 weeks after Phase I, focuses on practice and application, with attention to specific consultant roles in the group.
